Published by the Netherlands Architecture Institute, OASE is a bi-annual peer-reviewed journal.  Issue number 80 is structured around the first English and Dutch translation of Vittorio Gregotti’s 1965 essay “The Form of the Territory”.  Pages from the 1981 French translation, as they appeared in l’Architecture d’Aujourd’hui, are placed alongside the new English and Dutch translations.  Other articles revolve around the question of territory, exploring it from phenomenological, poetic and instrumental perspectives.  Sandra Parvu writes about the development of French peri-urban cities and the conflicts between territorial and architectural scales within the design process. Patricio Del Real explores the poetic investigations of the School of Architecture of the Catholic University of Valparaiso, documenting how the school used language as a research tool that led to interventions onto the harsh landscapes of southern Chile.  Paolo Vigano writes about STUDIO 09 intervention for le Grand Paris and Nancy Meijsmans and Bart de Zwart reflect on Vigano’s use of mapping to explore regional scale issues.

Review/Revue is a biweekly feature that looks at publications on the built environment.
